Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SERPent ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website (getserpent.com) and application (app.getserpent.com) (together, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and (if you choose email/password sign-in) a password, which is hashed and never stored in plain text. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google.

Company profile & content. To generate blog content on your behalf, we collect information about your company: name, website, product description, target audience, pricing, competitors, and similar details you provide or that our AI drafts from your public website content (which you review and approve before it's saved). We also store the blog articles our Service generates for your account.

Billing information. Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number; Stripe handles that directly.

Team information. If you invite teammates, we collect their email addresses to manage workspace access.

Google Search Console data (only if you connect it). If you choose to connect Google Search Console, we access performance data (clicks, impressions, average position, and page URLs) for the specific site property you authorize. See Section 2 for how this data is used.

Integration credentials. If you connect Webflow or WordPress to publish content, we store your API token or application password, encrypted at rest.

2. How We Use Google User Data

If you connect Google Search Console, we request the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmasters.readonly scope, which is read-only. We use this access solely to:

We do not use Google user data for advertising, do not sell or share it with third parties for their own purposes, and do not use it for any purpose beyond providing this specific feature to you inside the Service. You can disconnect Search Console access at any time from within the app, which revokes our access to your Google data going forward.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request account deletion at any time by contacting us at the email below, after which we delete your account data within 30 days, except where we're required to retain records for legal or billing purposes.

Integration credentials (Webflow tokens, WordPress passwords) are encrypted at rest. We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

You may access, correct, or delete your personal information, and revoke Google account access at any time, by contacting us or through your account settings.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
